Frequently asked questions

How does ordering work?

You order in the shop while the order window is open. After the order deadline, we pass all orders on together to Jessica and Emilio in Sicily. Only then is the fruit harvested – exactly the amount that was ordered. The next delivery is in November.

What is in a box?

Each box contains around 9 kg of one variety, for example Tarocco oranges, Clementines or Lemons. A mixed box combines three different varieties. The fruit is untreated, with no chemicals – just as it comes off the tree.

Can I mix different varieties?

Yes, with our mixed boxes – they combine three varieties. Single-variety boxes each contain one variety, but you can of course order several of them.

When will the fruit reach me?

After the order deadline, the fruit is harvested, packed and shipped. Delivery is expected in mid-November. We’ll let you know the exact date by e-mail.

How often do you deliver? Is there a delivery calendar?

After the first delivery in November we carry on roughly every two weeks – all season long, from November to April. There is deliberately no calendar fixed to the day: we harvest only once the fruit is truly ripe, and every delivery follows the harvest. As soon as a date is set, you will hear it by e-mail. The shop also always shows which delivery you are ordering for and how long you have. You will find the delivery dates for the whole season on the page Shipping.

Where do you deliver?

Throughout Switzerland, straight to your home.

How much does shipping cost?

1 box CHF 12.–, 2 boxes CHF 21.–, 3 to 4 boxes CHF 32.–, and from 5 boxes we deliver free of charge. You’ll see the shipping costs in the cart before you complete your order.

How is the price made up?

How can I pay?

By invoice or with the payment methods we show you at checkout.

Can I cancel my order?

Up to the order deadline, yes – free of charge, by e-mail. After that it’s no longer possible, because the order then goes to Sicily and the fruit is harvested for you.

How do I store the fruit, and how long does it keep?

Take the fruit out of the box and store it somewhere cool, dry and airy, ideally in a polystyrene box or a crate, and cover it with a woollen blanket on your balcony or in the cellar. Check the fruit regularly so you can quickly remove any that has gone bad. That way it stays fresh for two to three weeks.

Is the fruit treated?

No. The fruit is untreated, with no chemicals, not waxed and not treated. You can use the peel too.

What if fruit arrives damaged?

Please check the fruit as soon as you receive it and, if any of it is damaged, get in touch straight away with photos at ciao@amici-agrumi.ch. We’ll replace the affected quantity or refund you for that share.
