How Amici Agrumi came about
Three years ago we were travelling through Italy in our van, working and learning on organic farms. One thing was still missing: experiencing the citrus harvest in Sicily. When we stopped along the way to fill up our water tank, someone pulled over – and we asked him whether he knew a citrus farmer. He looked at us and said: “We start harvesting tomorrow, at my friends’ place.” One phone call later we were standing on the farm of Jessica and Emilio, where they tend their citrus trees with all their heart and live among the trees with their children Ginevra and Amedeo. Three days of helping with the harvest turned into a week, and the week into a friendship. That is how Amici Agrumi came about: their fruit, straight to your home in Switzerland.
The farm of Jessica & Emilio
Gelso
The name comes from a centuries-old mulberry tree – “gelso” in Italian – that Jessica and Emilio found in the citrus grove when they moved to the countryside. They named the farm after it because it seemed to them the most beautiful way of letting this great tree live on.

About me
I’m Cinzia, 33, and always open to new inspiration and ideas. I’m never bored. I love being outdoors in nature or with the people dearest to me – and best of all, both at once.
Bringing Sicilian citrus fruit to Switzerland was, once again, a decision made with the heart. I simply gave it a try – and the idea caught on: today the fruit from Jessi and Emilio comes straight to your home – sun-ripened, untreated and with a story I love to pass on.
Vision
To bring excellent, untreated citrus fruit from Sicily to Switzerland – and to give security to the people who grow it.
How Amici Agrumi works: you order, and only then does the order go to Sicily – to Jessica and Emilio. Together with their team, the two of them pick exactly the quantity that was ordered, and they know even before the harvest that their fruit will be bought. That gives them security. And because no fruit is picked in vain, there is no food waste: this citrus fruit is harvested because someone is waiting for it.
